How Mercari fees work now
Since January 2025 Mercari has one seller fee. Older calculators still show the pre-2025 “2.9% + $0.50” payment fee — that no longer applies and will understate your payout.

Seller vs buyer side
The 3.6% buyer protection fee is added to the buyer's checkout total. It doesn't reduce your payout — but it does affect what buyers are willing to offer. Toggle “Buyer view” in the calculator to see the buyer's all-in total.
Mercari vs the field
On a $60 sale: Mercari keeps $6.00, eBay most-categories keeps about $8.56, Poshmark keeps $12.00. For heavier items, remember eBay's fee base includes buyer shipping while Mercari's choices differ — compare with your real numbers.
