eBay and PayPal — what actually gets charged
Since eBay managed payments, eBay's final value fee is one number that already includes payment processing. You only pay PayPal fees on money received off eBay — a local sale, a repeat buyer who pays you directly, or an off-platform classifieds deal. Don't stack PayPal fees on top of eBay fees for the same sale; that double-counts.

The old-rate trap
Many calculators still show “3.49% + $0.49” or even “2.9% + $0.30” for goods & services. The current US G&S rate is 2.99% with no fixed fee — using an old rate overstates your fee on small payments.
